Narok, Kajiado and Laikipia, Kenya

Gatheringsthat rise.

Festivals, retreats, ceremonies and galas, co-hosted with Maasai communities who lead every song, blessing and dance.

Our approach

We don’t stage culture. Every Sundune gathering is co-designed with Maasai community hosts, who set the terms, lead the ceremonies and are paid as partners, not performers.

  • Community-led

Elders and hosts shape every programme and can say no to anything in it.

  • A fair share

A fixed 30% of every fee goes straight to the host community’s own fund.

  • Light on the land

Local suppliers, no single-use plastic, and every site left the way we found it.

What we host

Four kinds of gathering, each designed with our community hosts around story, song, food and the land it happens on.

  • Cultural festivals

Open-air days of music, beadwork, storytelling and food, led by the people whose culture it is.

    200 to 2,000 guests
    One to three days
  • Leadership retreats

Three days on the plains for teams who want to slow down, listen to elders and talk about what lasts.

    12 to 60 guests
    Two or three nights
  • Weddings and ceremonies

Celebrations that honour both families, with blessings, song and dress planned together with you.

    40 to 300 guests
    One or two days
  • Sunset galas

Long tables under acacias, a choir at dusk and a fire that keeps going after the speeches stop.

    80 to 500 guests
    One evening

Since 2019 we’ve hosted 140 gatherings for 9,400 guests, with 6 partner communities.

From first call to last song

  1. 1

    Tell us the occasion

Who is coming, what you are marking and what you hope people carry home.

  2. 2

    Design it together

We visit with our community hosts and shape the programme, the site and the food with you.

  3. 3

    Gather

We run everything on the day, from transport to the last fire, so you can be a guest at your own event.

“Nobody performed for us. We were welcomed, and that is the difference our team still talks about.”
